YMCA Winter 2020 | Page 2

WELCOME TO OUR WINTER 2020 EDITION! Welcome to the winter issue of our YMCA Healthy Living magazine. The last few months have been difficult for all of us and staying connected with our community has never been more vital, particularly for young people. As an organisation whose benevolent work is to support and empower young people, we wanted to highlight some of the challenges young people are facing during the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In this issue, you’ll find our usual delicious recipes and latest nutritional information, as well as personal reflections from young YMCA staff and volunteers about how COVID-19 has impacted them and helpful resources on how to keep well during this difficult time. Most of us are staying home more, which means we are also cooking more. We hope you’ll find some inspiration in our recipes for healthy, wholegrain snacks and veggie-rich winter meals, such as mushroom and chickpea curry (yum!). As for tips on health and wellbeing, our top Australian health and nutrition experts Ebony McCorkin, Dr Tim Crowe, Lauren Atkins, Melanie Marino and Fiona Kriaris have got you covered. From plant-based eating to protecting your immunity, this edition will help you get through the chilly winter months. So why not change into your comfiest trackies and snuggle up for an enlightening read. To advertise in this magazine...
