During Lockdown 2.0 , I have managed to keep myself busy in my spare time by getting outside and ‘ shooting hoops ’, whilst on sunny days , I have enjoyed visiting the local park to do a workout . I have also been reading a lot more — non-fiction books are so interesting ! I have also continued studying and completing subjects towards my Masters of Business Administration . Overall , I have tried to have at least one activity to do on my days off , as I have too much energy to sit all day and watch Netflix .

In ISO my housemate and I have been completing a six-week running program to become faster at our 5km . We have seen huge improvements since week one and love getting out every second day for our run and some sunshine . We ’ ve made the most of the great running tracks and parks within our 5km zone . I am so grateful to have my housemate doing it with me as we keep each other accountable and I cannot wait to see how fast our final 5km is .

I have always been a distance runner , so when the restrictions were announced I was gutted at the thought of not being able to take the legs out for my long ( but slow ) morning runs . However , there was opportunity to challenge myself in a different way . I started to work on speed over the distance of runs . I have cut two minutes of my 1km personal best and I have never felt more motivated getting up every day to try and beat that number . I ’ ve also made the most of the fitness classes on Virtual Y . It ’ s meant that I can get a good workout at home , while trying a variety of classes to keep it interesting !
