EATING SEASONALLY: YOUR GUIDE TO SUMMER PRODUCE To help you eat seasonally, nutrition expert Gloria Cabrera provides her guide to Summer produce. f you’re anything like me, when you think about Summer eating you probably think of fruits like mangoes, peaches and strawberries, and light meals with lots of salad. Spending time outdoors, at the beach, or having picnics might also spring to mind. I Summer is a great time to eat seasonally because there’s such an abundance of produce available. Last edition, we mentioned the benefits of eating seasonally, so following on from this information, here’s what’s ‘in’ this Summer. For example, you can save money, the produce tends to be tastier, fresher and more nutritious, and with such a huge variety of fruit and vegetables available, the task of eating what’s in season is likely to be highly enjoyable!
