SEASONAL SMOOTHIES

Smoothies are a quick and easy way to pack in some healthy nutrition into your day ! Plant-based smoothies are loaded with antioxidants , fibre , minerals and vitamins , and are a great way to reach your daily fruit and vegetable targets . Make sure your smoothie is balanced and contains a source of high fibre carbs like fruit or oats , some protein from milk or yoghurt , and some healthy fats from nuts or seeds . Avoid added sugars and use fruit to sweeten your smoothies naturally .
How to choose a plant-based milk
When choosing a plant-based milk , look for :
} protein : 3g or more per 100mls of milk } calcium : 120mg per 100mls of milk or “ calcium fortified ”
} sugars : “ unsweetened ” or “ no added sugar ”.

PEACHES AND CREAM SMOOTHIE

INGREDIENTS
} 1 peach ( pitted ) } 1 tsp vanilla extract } 1 handful macadamias } 3 tbsp coconut cream } 1 handful ice cubes } 1-1½ cups plant milk
Makes one smoothie
METHOD
1 . Place all ingredients into a highspeed blender and blend until smooth and creamy .
2 . Pour into a glass and enjoy !

GOLDEN SUNRISE SMOOTHIE

Makes one smoothie
INGREDIENTS
} 1 ripe persimmon ( chopped ) } 1 orange ( chopped ) } ⅓ cup oats } 1 tbsp desiccated coconut } ¼ tsp turmeric ( grated ) } ¼ tsp ginger ( grated ) } 1-1½ cups plant milk
METHOD
1 . Place all ingredients into a highspeed blender and blend until smooth and creamy .
2 . Pour into a glass and enjoy !
