Cutting to blocks: The large slate blocks extracted from the quarry are cut into thick blocks with same length and width of the final slates be produced. Splitting to pieces: Experienced workers split each block into pieces with thickness twice of the final slates, then these pieces are then split in half to required thickness. Trimming or beveling the edges: The cut edges of each slate are trimmed or beveled in order to facilitate the passage of water over the slate once in place on the roof. Drill and further fabrication: The methods of slate roof installation are developed, such as nail fixing, hook and aluminum profile, drilling and further fabrication on slates can be optionally done.
