SPIRITUALITY During my workshops with corporate, I found out that most of our working class do not have any idea about the amazing ability of 5 minutes of Yoga & meditation every couple of hours. In spite of the ergonomic chairs, people need to apply some of the techniques of Yoga and Meditation that are extremely effective and unparalleled in some ways. In fact, meditation in my opinion has the most amazing effect physically as well as mentally. It is the best stress buster, concentration booster and motivator. whatever they ate as a miracle. Every breath that they took was synchronized with a mantra. The rituals of Yoga, Ayurveda & Reiki was not a small part of their daily routine. Instead, it was the whole and sole. Their very life was Yogic. Every breath, every meal, every prayer, every conversation, every hobby was Yogic. India thousands of years back was swarming with sages and seers thus. Even the common man had a Yogic life. Today, it is different. Mobile phones, cameras, screens, social media, cars and shopping malls have taken over. We don’t walk, we take the elevator. I read recently in an interview by Ironman Milind Soman to a magazine recently that he takes the stairs instead of lifts and elevators. He prefers to have an active life. We need to walk, climb, trek mountains, swim, play outdoor sports, meditate, attend festivals, maintain a healthy & strict diet, play with our children – do all those things that can keep us physically and mentally rejuvenated. 58 www.yogicherald.com March 2019 Meditation can be done even at work (on a mat or even on a chair) and a session can last from anywhere between 5-30 minutes. For a beginner, it takes more time to find your focus point and slip into the inner world whereas for an advanced meditator, the takeoff does not take much time. In fact, I personally know many meditators who can wrap up a blissful experience session in just 10-15 minutes. The ideal way to start a session (even a brief one) is to observe your breathing. While breathing in through right nostril (North Pole) and breathing out through left nostril (South Pole), it's a vortex, an evidence of cosmic inhalation and exhalation - balancing the breath - experience the energy pattern that runs our life. Observe your breath, experience the bellowing of your lungs and their fall - the entire process of the breath going into the lungs and coming out is like a vortex that is created on the surface of earth. Nadi shodhan means purification of the nadis that serve as channels for ‘swara’ or ‘prana’. Shodhan means purification. This tapping is the best way to tap subtle energy/life force/prana. There are other methods also such as the one that keeps us alive i.e. regular breathing pattern. Then there is chakra shodhan, in which the purification of meeting point of three swaras where 3 kinds of energy (universal energy gets categorized into 3 once it enters our body - hot current, cold current, void current) meet happens. These are chakras that are purified in the same pattern of energy that is vortex shaped and comprises of pyramids, spirals etc. While nadi shodhan can be done through pranayam, chakra shodhan has to be done in a long session of application of devotion, faith and being an empty cup. The subtle energy patterns are just amazing to observe, they are the best possible infinite geometry that can be. These points are mostly in the part above mouth (in the forehead region and above). This stretches a few inches above your head. Quite surprisingly, the energy body is larger than the physical body of a human or a planet. The tip of the energy body is
