SWF SEASON ROUNDUP We take a look back at the most exciting months of Girls football this season. February May Scottish youth football history was made as Bayside FC hosted the country’s largest all-girls football festival. Over nine hundred young female players from teams across Scotland spent the day playing noncompetitive football at Pitreavie Playing Fields in Dunfermline. The event, fully subsidised by Bayside FC & its sponsors, saw the teams playing over 200 fixtures. Linlithgow won the battle of the Roses, defeating Bonnyrigg 7-2 to continue their progress in the U13 Scottish Cup by defeating Scone Thistle in the next round. Lasswade High School earned a place in the final of the SSFA Shield with a 7-1 win over Bishopbriggs Academy. at Aberdeen Sports Village. A Helena Todd goal was enough to separate Edinburgh rivals Hearts and Hibernian in the final of the U14 SWF SE Region Cup. Linlithgow Rose won the U13 trophy earlier in the day in an exciting 6-4 win over Hutchison Vale and Hibernian claimed won the U15 trophy, beating Falkirk 2-1. June August Falkirk 13s came out on top in the SWF Central League Cup final with a convincing three-one win over Motherwell. Deeside Girls defeated Aberdeen in the 13s SWF North League Cup final. Two goals each from Eilidh Mitchell and Katie Becker helped Deeside achieve a four-three victory Celtic Girls Tayside edged past Dunfermline Athletic in the U13 Scottish Cup quarter final. Megan Robb’s winner secured a 2-1 win at South Road. April Musselburgh Windsor Whites defeated Glasgow Girls five-three away from home to progress in the U13 Scottish Cup.
