Send your news, articles and notices to [email protected] BEATING THE BOUNDS Join us for a traditional “Beating the Bounds” walk on Sat 30th August (or Sat 6th Sept if wet). The walk will be approx 10 miles. You will need stout shoes/walking boots, your lunch, drinks, plenty of water, and possibly sunscreen and a hat! There may be some rough terrain, ditches to cross and fences to get through as we will not be on footpaths for most of the time. At several road crossings a car will be available to take people back to the start if required, so you do not have to do the whole walk. Please see next month’s Yer Tiz for details of start time and place. Note you will be walking at your own risk. Mozart’s ‘Magic Flute’ at Great Chalfield Manor 18 and 19 July 2014 For over ten years, Bath Opera has thrilled audiences around the West Country with its smaller scale touring productions. The opera will be directed by John Palmer, who has written new dialogue and libretto (in English), and will be performed by a very talented young, professional cast. The performance begins at 7.30 pm and the beautiful Arts and Crafts Gardens at Great Chalfield will be open for picnics from 5.00 pm (under cover if wet). Tickets are £35 each. Further details about the performance are available on the website, www.greatchalfield.co.uk. To apply for tickets, please email [email protected] or telephone 01225 782239.
