Expanding Democracy Pivotal decisions like Citizens United v. FEC and Shelby v. Holder have forever changed the landscape of enfranchisement in the United States. In fact, we face more money in politics than ever before and several states have implemented additional measures to eliminate or curtail existing voter protections. It is a critical time for Americans to reclaim the democratic process and make it truly “of, by, and for” the people through innovative voter registration and modernization initiatives, campaign finance reforms, and renewed civic engagement. The policies in this book can also be found in our online legislative exchange, and as always, we encourage you to contact our team if we can be of support. Our country finds itself with continued political stalemate where state and local level leadership by YEOs is even more critical. We look forward to seeing the impact we can make when we harness the collective energy of YEOs across the country.
