master of public administration from the University of Delaware, and a professional certification
in public performance measurement from Rutgers University. He is an alumnus of the Michigan
Political Leadership Program at Michigan State University. He is married to Margaret Brown, and
they are the proud parents of Owen who was born in September of 2015.

Dwight Bullard
State Senator
Miami, Florida
Dwight M. Bullard was elected into office as Florida state senator in
November of 2012. He has been a teacher at Coral Reef Senior High
School in Miami, Florida since 2000. He currently serves as vice chair
of transportation, and serves on numerous committees such as the
appropriations subcommittee on education, government oversight, and
education Pre-K-12 and others. He was a recipient of the YEO Network’s
2012 Barbara Jordan Leadership Award, Florida Education Association’s Freshman Friend of Public
Education Award, and the Florida Association of School Administrators Next Generation Leader
Award. He is currently chair of his county party’s executive committee, the Prince Hall Masons
Johnny L. King Lodge #767, and the Richmond-Perrine Alumni chapter of the Kappa Alpha Psi
Fraternity Inc. @DwightBullard
