Danielle Adams
Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor
Durham, North Carolina
Danielle Adams serves on the Soil and Water Conservation District Board
of Supervisors in Durham, North Carolina. In 2012 she received the Outstanding District Supervisor of the Year award from the North Carolina
Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts and was honored
by Spectacular Magazine as the “Woman of the Year: Emerging Leader”
award recipient. Adams has previously served as the alternative transportation project manager in the Office of Sustainability at Appalachian State University, a 2014
Young Climate Leaders fellow and on the board of directors for the Upper Neuse River Association.
Currently she serves as an ambassador to Oxfam America’s Sisters on the Planet program and
works for the Institute for Southern Studies. She received her B.A. in political science with a minor in music from North Carolina Central University and studied environmental politics and policy

James Albis

East Haven, Connecticut

James Albis is serving his third term as state representative in the
Connecticut General Assembly for the 99th District—his hometown of
East Haven. He first claimed the seat in a February 2011 special election.
In January 2015, Albis was appointed chairman of the Environment
Committee. In addition to his committee work, Albis was appointed to
chair the Speaker’s Task Force on Shoreline Preservation in February
2012. This task force investigated the issues of sea level rise, coastal flooding, and extreme
weather events, with the goal of ensuring the safety of homeowners along the coast and in other
vulnerable areas. The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters has recognized Rep. Albis as a
legislative champion from 2012-2015 for his work on coastal resilience and climate adaptation.
James is also a graduate student at the Yale School of Forestry & Environmental Studies.

Alphonso Amos
City Councilmember
Port Huron, Michigan
Alphonso Amos has worked on all levels of campaigns at the local, state,
and national level. He has been a volunteer, an organizer, and a candidate.
At 26, Amos was elected to the Port Huron City Council. He is a passionate
advocate for youth and young adults, believing strongly in the power of
service. He is the executive director of a nonprofit organization Impact
Youth Services, whose mission is to impact urban youth and to positively
influence their families and their environment through programs and activities. Alphonso cocoordinates a community outreach program and volunteers for causes, including homeless shelter
