Tom Matzzie
Ethical Electric
Tom Matzzie is founder, president, and CEO of Ethical Electric, a
renewable energy company empowering utility customers to cut
emissions and support clean energy through 100 percent renewable
electricity. Matzzie founded Ethical Electric in 2011 with the belief
everyone should have easy access to wind and solar energy. Throughout
his career, Matzzie has built online communities for causes designed to
disrupt incumbents. His work has pioneered innovations now considered
best practices in online civic engagement, and he is a widely recognized
expert in this field. Matzzie is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame,
was a finalist for the 2015 EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the Greater Washington region,
and he was named “a rising star” by the New York Times Magazine for his innovative work with
MoveOn.org.

Chris Shapard
Colorado Cleantech Industries Association
Chris Shapard is the founding executive director of CCIA, an organization
dedicated to creating a stronger Colorado economy based on an energy
system that is cleaner, cheaper, efficient, and secure. Initiatives driven
by Shapard include the commissioning and funding of the Colorado
Cleantech Action Plan, which is used by economic development,
university, and workforce organizations to grow cleantech jobs in
the state; state policy successes that provide grants to early-stage
cleantech companies commercializing university technology; and
creation of the Energy Fellows Institute executive accelerator that
introduces successful executives to clean technology opportunities.  Since 2009, she has grown
the organization from a handful of members to several hundred, and manages a budget of
approximately $750,000.  She serves as co-chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Review
Committee for the Advanced Industry Accelerator Grant Program, was a finalist for the Denver
Business Journal’s 2013 Outstanding Women in Business award, and is a board member of CO-Labs.

As senior vice president of public policy and power markets, Bryan Miller
oversees all public policy development, legislative and regulatory affairs,
and political activities for Sunrun. Miller also serves as president of The
Alliance for Solar Choice (TASC), which advocates for the rooftop solar
industry. Miller previously served as vice president of energy policy for
sustainable energy at Constellation, which merged with Exelon in 2012 to
become the nation’s largest utility. Miller managed Exelon’s public policy
work on renewable energy issues nationwide. Prior to joining Exelon,
he served as senior counsel at the U.S. Department of Energy where
he managed legislative and regulatory affairs. Prior to serving in the Obama Administration, he
practiced regulatory and energy law for 10 years at a large, full service law firm. He holds a B.A. and
J.D. from George Washington University.
