YEOs in Action: San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim & Affordable Housing Policy
With a progressive agenda taking root in cities and states across
the country, YEOs and other progressive electeds are pushing
a working families’ agenda in which affordable housing is a
central point. This ordinance-turned-ballot initiative from
YEO San Francisco Supervisor Jane Kim amends the city
planning code to establish a 70/30 balance between market-rate
housing and affordable housing in new housing construction.
Additionally, this measure requires a conditional use permit for
new market-rate housing if the balance of affordable housing
is not maintained.
