We would like to welcome Jenalyn Sotto to our YEO
Network family as our new Policy Coordinator.
Jenalyn is a 2011 graduate of the University of California
at Berkeley where she majored in both Asian American
Studies and Rhetoric. Most recently, she served on the
staff of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s
Forum as an Immigration Rights Consultant, where she
authored analysis of immigrations bills, amendment summaries, fact sheets, press
releases, and actions alerts for the membership. She also developed toolkits for
college chapters on federal legislative action items, as well as contributed policy
updates to the National Council of Asian Pacific Americans Immigration Table.
Prior to that, Jenalyn served as a legislative fellow in the Office of Congresswoman
Judy Chu where she assisted in drafting policy and communications on issues
ranging from mental health to immigration, LGBT rights, and voting rights.
At the Network, Jenalyn will be working with Dawn to continue the stellar work
of our policy department, providing you with policy support, the latest resources
from strategic partners, and continued connections to innovative solutions for
your communities. We are thrilled to have Jenalyn join us and hope you have the
chance to give her a warm welcome at [email protected]. Welcome Jenalyn!

YEO Opportunities: 2014 Membership Survey
The 2014 Membership Survey is closing today! As many of you know, we are a
Network “of, by, and for” the YEOs we work to support, and this survey is one
of the main ways we make that mantra ring true. The survey takes three-five
minutes and is the ideal way for you to set the focus for 2014! Tell us about
specific policies you’d like to focus on or about your role in the Network. Do not
miss this opportunity. Complete it now!

Thank you for a great 2013!
Dear Friends:
As we close out 2013, we reflect on a
wonderful year at the YEO Network. This
year we organized the biggest Convening
we’ve ever had, rebranded our program,
updated our technological capacities,
expanded our policy department to provide
you with an online legislative exchange and
increased policy support, and deepened your
relationships with our membership team to
better meet your needs.
We also look to the great accomplishments
of our members. Your hard work in 2013
has expanded equality, continued the push
for civil rights, created better educational
opportunities for our youth, kept immigration
and gun reform in the national debate, and
given your communities hope that the next
generation of leaders will continue to serve
them with honor.
Thank you for your hard work and for all of
your support in 2013. We are proud to work
with the next generation of courageous,
innovative, and driven leaders and look
forward to the accomplishments we will
have in the coming year.
Happy holidays and happy New Year
