The garment that we have chosen is a Dorthey Perkins A-line high-waisted skirt with Two pockets in the front and a large slit. There are a lot of issues that needs to be addressed and some of the issues, should not even be an issue, for example, not having a double stitch on the front slit or no button.
The main issue which needed addressing on my garment is the large slit on the front. This is very unflattering and dangerous as you give a sneak peek at something that you don’t want to show people. This can be resolved by removing the front slit and have it on the side of the skirt or turn it into a vent in the back as there is none already.
Another feature that needs improvement is the size of the garment. As Lucy said in the video that the skirt does not seem true to size. It’s very important the size of the garment is true to its size because if it’s not, then it will ruin the whole garment as it is made to look and fit a certain way so that the garment can be its true shape around the body. To fix this issue you start by actually make the garment true to its size and also add more fastening to tighten or loosen up the garment so it can fit the body shape better.
To improve the overall appearance of the garment, you can start by Removing the two pockets that sit right on the stomach which is not flattering. But on the bright side, this can save you from wasting materials which are more economical and environmentally friendly. Also, personally, I think the garment would look better is the pattern went in one direction. However, this can cause a problem while producing the garment as the patterns may not look symmetrical which make the garment look unprofessional.
Overall, by making this adjustment, it would make the dress safer and trendy for women of all shapes and sizes to wear at many times of the day.
