Every brand or company always states that they “Follow the Rules” and they “Do No Harm” but to be honest, we can never trust anyone. But NO ONE KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND THE DOOR. But let’s see if Burberry “Follow the Rules” in their Code of Conduct.

What we call Rules are what Companies call ETI Base Code. ETI (Ethical Trading Initiative) Base Code is a well-respected code of labor practice that is used by companies and suppliers around the world. They help companies to stay ethical and gives employees, their well-earned human rights.

Burberry strongly believes in the ETI Base Code. That they don’t only follow the 10 rules, but, also have 3 extra ones of their own. Burberry follows every ETI Base Code, which consists of;

1.Employment is freely chosen

2.Freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining are respected

3.Working conditions are safe and hygienic

4.Child labor shall not be used

5.Living wages are paid

6.Working hours are not excessive

7.No discrimination is practiced

8.Regular employment is provided

9.No harsh or inhumane treatment is allowed

And their 3 extra rules are which are;

10.The environment shall be protected

11.Workers shall have legal entitlement to work

12.Sub-contracting and home working

Burberry believes that it is vital to be a socially responsible business, promoting fair and sustainable employment practices internally and by supporting diversity and equal opportunities in the workplace both within its own operations and across its supply chain. Burberry acknowledges that, within its supply chain, there are many different countries each with their own laws, cultures, norms and traditions, which Burberry recognizes and respects.
