Wetlands and Biodiversity
NQ Dry Tropics ’ Living Landscapes program aims to safeguard , maintain and restore regional ecological assets . This involves delivering projects to help restore and protect threatened species and ecological communities , and aquatic ecosystems and their values .
This year , work continued to focus on repairing and rehabilitating critical landscapes , habitats and species , including wetlands , beach scrub , creek banks and rangelands . Activities included weed and feral animal control , constructing fishways to aid fish migration , and revegetation .
