NQ Dry Tropics is a partner in the Tropical North Queensland ( TNQ ) Drought Hub , which aims to support regional farmers and communities to be more drought resilient .
Led by James Cook University , TNQ is one of eight hubs created within major climatic and agricultural zones across Australia .

The TNQ Drought Hub hosted the National Soils Advocate , the Honourable Penelope Wensley AC , for a two-day field trip to several project sites in the region . NQ Dry Tropics organised for the Hon Ms Wensley to visit a cane farm , a wetland and a grazing property , where she learned about initiatives to improve soil quality and drought resilience .
