MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR
It has been a pleasure to chair the NQ Dry Tropics Board during an exciting and busy year . The organisation continues to go from strength to strength and I am always heartened by the positive feedback I receive from our stakeholders and others with whom we have contact .
For the first time our Board has been appointed on a skills basis and we are fortunate to have dedicated directors who are passionate about natural resource management .
I would like to thank our very capable staff members headed up by CEO Scott Crawford . They provide our community with a vast array of skills and experience .
I would also like to thank our stakeholders , with whom we work closely , for their assistance and cooperation .
I hope you enjoy reading our Year In Review , which has been put together by our communications team .
We have attempted to present you with a broad outline of the various projects and activities we have engaged in throughout the year .
As the saying goes — a picture is worth a thousand words .

MESSAGE FROM THE CEO
NQ Dry Tropics turned 20 this year . Since our formation we have grown significantly in our skills and capabilities , become a respected and valued partner to many , supported hundreds of landholders on their journey to more sustainable land management , and delivered in excess of $ 200 million in investment and projects across the Burdekin region . We make a difference .
This year our team continued delivering positive outcomes for the Burdekin region ’ s landscapes , livelihoods and communities , supported by vital contributions from project partners , investors , landholders , Traditional Owners and the Board . We are grateful for that support .
It was an honour to host UNESCO representatives on a tour of the Bowen , Broken , Bogie ( BBB ) catchment . The visit provided a chance to showcase on the international stage the groundbreaking work taking place to improve land management and water quality , in partnership with the BBB community .
This year we began developing a Reconciliation Action Plan . We are proud of this commitment to reconciliation and closing the gap , and look forward to putting the plan into action .
Joining the Tropical North Queensland Drought Hub reflects our continued commitment to building resilience in our landscapes , agricultural sector and communities . Queensland has the highest prevalence of natural disasters in Australia and as part of the statewide Natural Resource Management Regions Queensland ( NRMRQ ) group , we will continue to advocate for the role NRM bodies can play in the resilience space .
Read on to find out about the difference we make .
