SACC INTERNS - LEAVING LOTTA NORDIN Lotta Nordin arrived at the Chamber in December 2012 as marketing manager and divided her time between SACC and the American Swedish Historical Museum until June this year. This arrangement, she believes, created benefits and opportunities for both organizations, as well as for her. Lotta has always been interested in international relations, but became even more so after studying abroad in Singapore for one year (2011/2012). A course in International PR brought her on a field trip to the French Chamber of Commerce where she instantly felt at home - hence when back in Sweden, Lotta immediately applied to SACC. Studying Communications, PR and Graphic Design at University of Linkoping, she finished her Bachelor thesis on Destination Branding while she was in Singapore. Her thesis was rewarded with a scholarship from the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. Lotta also has experience in project management for a Swedish retail chain and, when time allows, she writes for the architectural magazine “RUM”. One of her top accomplishments during the time at the Chamber was arranging the sustainability event at SCA in February. She was also responsible for layout and design of this issue of the SACC Year in Review, as well as getting the Chamber more involved in PR and social media. For the remainder of 2013, Lotta will continue her marketing and PR job full-time for the museum. She hopes to continue to work in an international environment in the future as well - preferably for a company that puts sustainability high up on the agenda. In Sweden or abroad. CARIN LEEO Carin came to Philadelphia and started working at the chamber in September 2012. After graduating from Uppsala University in June she wanted to go to the U.S. to gain experience of the American business culture and therefore she applied to SACC-Philadelphia. Carin grew up in Örebro, Sweden. After high school Carin lived in Bordeaux, France for five months where she studied French and enjoyed the rich French culture. Once back in Sweden, Carin decided she wanted to study business and therefore moved to Uppsala to study at the Business Economics Program at Uppsala University. Through Uppsala University, Carin also went on an exchange year to Kansas, USA in 2010/2011. Studying business at the University of Kansas she learned a lot about American culture but also gained valuable international experience. After returning to Uppsala, Carin took up her French which she studied for one semester before finishing her Bachelor´s Degree in spring 2012, focusing on International Business Management.
