SACC interns LEAVING MALIN KARLSSON TOMAS AHLMARK Malin is originally from Hova, a small town situated in the middle of Sweden between the two big lakes Vanern and Vattern. She started her university studies at Orebro University, right between Stockholm and Gothenburg, where she had a focused on finance and accounting. The spring of 2011 was her last semester, and she had plans of either going to Budapest for another semester in order to get her Masters degree, or moving to Stockholm. Then, the opportunity for SACC Philadelphia came along, and she decided to apply for it. She is interested in finance and want like to work as an advisor within the financial sector. The SACC internship was a good first step, as it gave her experience abroad and the opportunity to be immersed in the American business culture. She will now head back to the University, finish her Masters and then continue on in an exciting career in finance. Tomas Ahlmark was SACC-Philadelphia’s intern, starting in November 2011. Tomas comes from the city of Strängnäs, one hour west of Stockholm. Tomas has previously lived in the United States for one year between 2001-2002, as an exchange student in high school. He lived in rural Nebraska and found the experience rewarding in many ways and also a bit different from what he was used to from Sweden. Since then he has a MSc in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of Economics within Business and Economics and lived and studied in Prague in the Czech Republic for one semester. Before his internship, Tomas worked for the full service HR consulting company Florec AB in Stockholm. With the internship at SACC-Philadelphia, Tomas hopes to gain experience in American business life, and a stepping stone into an international business career.
