E-DAYS
SACC ENTREPRENEURIAL DAYS in GOTHENBURG
November 8 -10, 2010
As has become a tradition SACC-Philadelphia attended the
2010 Entrepreneurial Days, E-days. The E-days for 2010 was held
in the old seaport of Gothenburg on the western coast of Sweden.
The event was held at the Park Avenue Hotel in central Gothenburg with excellent space and service. SACC-Philadelphia had
an individual booth sponsored by International Industrial Design,
St Peters.
A great number of major Swedish corporations participated in
E-days including VOLVO Corp, VOLVO Cars, SAAB, SKANSKA,
SWEDBANK, NORDEA, STENA BULK, only to mention a few. In addition, there were representation from a number of investment
groups, law firms, trade organizations, educational services, cities and counties, consulting firms and not to forget Swedish Government / Embassy and US Ambassador to Sweden and various
US trade offices and organizations.
Several seminars and lectures were offered and i.e. SKANSKA
gave an interesting presentation of their totally rebuilt green offices in the Empire State Building in Manhattan, SAAB’s CEO JanAke Jonsson introduced the new SAAB Corp and its future plans
and VOLVO Trucks made a fantastic presentation of their new
trucks and closing with a drive on their test track.
SACC-Philadelphia came back with a couple of potential assignments i.e. introduction of a Tourist Bus operator to US Travel
Organizations and questions from a couple
of units at the Chalmers University regarding internships availability at Phila based
companies.
Next year’s E-days will be held in the
Swedish University City of Växjö and for that
event we at SACC-Philadelphia should
work on having a good representation from
a number of greater Philadelphia Universities interested in marketing their educational capabilities to their Swedish Counterparts [
