It certainly was a thrilling Thursday afternoon for our Lower Secondary Assumptionknights as that was when the AES Poetry Showdown 2019 was held! They formed teams within their own classes to write and present original poems on this year's theme, 'My Hero'. The showdown was a culmination of weeks of exploring and having fun with poetry in their own classes.
One special part of the event which really excited our Assumptionknights was the quiz segment! Our sporting English Language teachers also wrote their own poems about their heroes and so many of our Assumptionknights were eagerly raising their hands to guess who their teachers' heroes were.
Another sensational part of the event was watching the enthralling performances put up by our young poets, dedicating their poems to their special heroes.
