Cooking / Bowling 10th December 2012
Just in time for Christmas: we held a cooking day. That encouraged some of you to turn your hand at a three course meal. We indulged ourselves with an eggy starter, a chicken and bacon pasta bake, followed by what can only be described as ice cream and a mass of sweets. Then you went bowling in Exeter. I heard you beat the workers. Sounds like we have some future bowlers among you!
London Residential 18th December 2012
We travelled to London early in the morning; something of a military operation, as we had to come from two different areas and it was crucial to join up on the same train as it moved towards London from Newton Abbot on through Exeter. We split the group to two groups according to their interests. One group went off to a `recording studio’ who manage many artists including `radio head’ and Adele! While the other group left for the `natural history and science museums. We all met up at the hostel and in the evening we experienced the Christmas lights around us as we headed for a small restaurant along from Carnaby st for a group evening meal. The group had a wonderful time experiencing London, and it was a special trip for the `Dream-catchers’ as it really achieved what it set out to do,... bring young people together from different areas, but similar difficult backgrounds and give them the opportunity to experience new things, be creative, learn social skills, make new friends, and above all feel good about themselves and their life!
Dartmoor residential 15th March 2013
On the 15th, 16th and 17th of March Dreamcatchers workers took a group of you up to Dartmoor to take part in lots of fun outdoors activities, some of you leapt off of a bridge( In a harness of course!) You climbed rock faces, went kayaking( and some of us took a dip). For all of us, it was a cold and wet weekend of fun! Acoustic music from Pete sent( some) of us straight to sleep.
