The Real you
The reason I have chosen Mr Haskins to talk about this month is that here was a
man, working in a job that was hectic and busy and hard for him to enjoy. But he
took time out of that crazy lifestyle to pause and write. To design and create. He
was not a fantastic wordsmith or a Shakespeare like character, he was a stock broker, but he was creative none the less.
Many a time through my work as a youth worker I hear young people say they are
“not creative”, “they can’t do art”, “I don’t know how”. These same young people
then when given the opportunity create some of the best displays in youth centres
or take fantastic photos of friends and local views or take their bike to pieces only
to be able to re-assemble it again with newer and better parts.
Everyone is creative.
All we have to do is find the confidence in ourselves and the method in which that
creativity
