This boxer spent 1 ½ in Jamaica. On his return
he lived in London. He was suspended from
school several times and expelled from two
schools before being put into care. His father
took him to New York at 16 and he graduated
from Morris High School where he took up
boxing and won the amateur Spanish Golden
Glove championships in 1984. In 1990 he won
the world middleweight title against Nigel
Benn in November and had 43 straight wins
before his first loss.
