Your guide to Universal Credits ! 6 Benefits are going to become 1 benefit payment called ‘Universal Credit’.       Job Seekers Allowance Housing Benefit Income Support Working Tax Credit Child Tax Credit Employment and Support Allowance How does it affect me? The way you make a claim and receive payment will change.     You now need to make your claim online. If your circumstances change you also need to update this online. This includes moving house, moving in with a partner, having a child and if you get a job/leave. In most cases the money you receive for housing will go to you as part of the one benefit. This is instead of going directly to your landlord. If you live in supported housing, the benefit part of your universal credit will go directly to your landlord to pay your rent. You will receive one payment per household. So if you live with your partner, instead of getting separate payments, you will receive 1 joint payment. You payment will now get one payment per month. You 5. will get this payment in arrears (payment for the previous month). And it will need to go into a bank account.
