It’s something Styles must have heard plenty of
times in the past. She is no stranger to comedy
and no stranger to producing it. “Darkness and
Light” of course being only one aspect of her
work. She is also responsible for producing “Girls
Night”, a comedy night with an all female line-up.
When asking about the notion of an all girls night
being politicised, Styles dismissed it as such, saying that she did not buy into females in comedy as
a political issue.
“It is apolitical to me. It always has been. It never
was supposed to be a show that was supposed to
make a statement or anything. But what I would
say is that there is nothing negative about the
Australian comedy scene, really. I think there’s a
lot of positive things about it. But what I would
say about “Girls Night” is that no one would ever
come up to me
