Santana 2 violence has led to millions of deaths in Brazil and a lot of protest towards government for not putting an end to it. Sao Paulo gang violence began on the night of May 12, 2006. Again, already said to be the worst outbreak in Brazilian history. It is said that the most affected element being impacted by gang violence is youth. Brazilian gang members have used children to commit crimes because it is said to be the easiest way that the offender gets a shorter sentence in prison. Most of the murder victims are aged between fifteen and twenty-five years old. Gang members then become a substitute for family and are role models because they have respect. Not to mention, the mortality rate of young teenagers has increased dramatically due to the threats that gang members do to them. Not having another choice but to die or become a murdered, young people decides to kill themselves rather than dishonored their culture and family. A lot of teenagers agree to become gang members because they will have the protection and respect they “need” for them and their family. Being said, this situation is affecting the culture pf a lot of people. Now, they turn from believing in religious figures, on to believing in doing anything to stay real to their gang members. Moreover, the police, government and mostly a lot of people have tried putting an end to it but they either get paid a good amount of money to collaborate and maintain their mouths shut, or they killed them if they know too much. That agreement it is not leading Brazil to any resolution any time soon. Money has become the most important thing in the world now in days. People agree to anything all to get money and more if they live in a poor area like does who live in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
