Yamhill Valley Farm
2 School Council
Nourish Yamhill Valley held community meetings in which 70% of
community members identified they wanted to see more local fresh
food in Yamhill County schools
This led to the creation of the Yamhill Valley Farm to School Council, F2S.
The council brings together a diverse group of passionate community
members working together to define F2S and organically grow the right
program for our county. It will:

Lead the way in research
Provide space for members to
exchange information and
recognize best practices
Identify and learn about the
fresh food needs of Yamhill
County schools
Provide awareness and
education to the school staff to implement a successful
program starting with the 2014 school year
Current happenings and Next steps

In 2013 the council developed an assessment tool and are in the

process of conducting interviews with each of the school districts in
Yamhill County to gather necessary information.  This summer we
will compile the information so we may better support our Yamhill
county schools & cafeterias to purchase local foods to serve our
children
