The base of Rex Hill on the eastern edge
of Yamhill county, serves as the gateway to the
abundance of local savory flavors that the region
has to offer.
This gateway greets you with a
toast to the region’s numerous wine tasting
opportunities and culinary delights on the
eastern edge.
Once hailed as the hazelnut
capitol of the world, the Newberg Dundee
corridor is a great place to grow, sip and take in
the beautiful scenery’s rolling slopes of
Chehalem Mountain, Parrett Mountain and the
Dundee Hills. Newberg also boasts a growing
arts scene with its First Friday Artwalk, downtown galleries and the much-envied Chehalem
Cultural Center. Active revitalization efforts in the downtown core are evident when strolling on a
visit of the shops, tasting rooms and restaurants. Newberg is also known for its Historic Cameo
Theater and 99W Drive-in, as well as for its boyhood home of President Hoover. The farm to
table movement is evident on the menus of the area’s local fare dining establishments and in the
chef gardens that are increasing in number. Once home to “The Nuthouse” packing plant,
Dundee now boasts first class lodging, tasting,
dining and is home to a world-class u-pick kiwi
farm. This part of the valley is also home to the
taste of a variety of fresh berries, local olive oil,
microbrew and locally roasted coffee.
