On Thun . day nigb1 mos1 of lhe yachts put to sea with o wind light from lhe south and the sky wilh a liulc cloud . but later . the breeze hauling round west , lhc clouds broke up and lhe boats with lhc wind abeam danced along merrily as the moon · beams on the surrounding ocean . so that early on Good Friday morning quite a fleet of craft had dropped anchor round Commodore Hordern ' s handsome steam yacht Bro11zewi11g .
A lurge number of members arrived al noon by the club ' s s1eamer Greyhound , and took up their quaners under canvas in the flat at the nonh · western sideoflhc Basin . where the arrangements for ! heir oomfon were as perfect as lt was possible for camping accommodalion to be . In the middle , a large marquee was erected for use as a dining or social tent . where on arrival the hungry voyagers sat down 10 an excellent luncheon . On eilhcr side were a number of smaller tents including canteen . which la1er . owing to the low tempera lures which prevailed . proved a great comfon to campers .
The presence of the yachts with n goodly display of parti-coloured bu ming fluttering in the breeze enhanced the natural beauty of 1he scene by day , while at night the picrure was delightful . The full moon upon the still waters , the lighls shining 1hrough the tiny round pom of the yachts . 1he anistic lantern decorations and fairy ligh1s ,
