To our amazement we later a .' l <: Cnaincd that the ' PiJot ' was incorrect and in fac1 the red ligh1 was on the western Breakwall .
As expected . the sou ' westerly came in during the nighl and lasted un1il abou1 8 pm on 28 December , when we decided 10 go10 sea . After motor sailing when the wind was too light , we made Pon Alben at I pm on 29 December jU51 as soulh-west gale ( force 8 ) came in . Spent three days at Pon
Alben and left a14.30arn on 2Januaryandcruised along close to the Promontory and into Refuge Cove wailing for the seas to abate . Fine sunny weather with the seas abating , we cleared the Promontory abou1 midday . During the night the wind freshening from the south-eas1 , we set the spinnaker nnd made excellent time , entering Pon Phillip Bny n1 3 ani on 3 January . At 4 nm there wns u gcn1 lc celebration and we arrived at tl1e Sandringham Yacht Club ai 7 am .
