The foundation stone laid by His Royal Highness the Prince Philip , Duke of Edinburgh . on 15 May 1968 has now been set over the fireplace in die Edinburgh Bar with suitable inscriptions on each side .
The new clubhouse is complete < L Marinas C and D are being finished off and the crupark has been bituminiscd . slIUction of the four marinas , now ' B ', · c ·. · o · and ' E ', the reclamation of the Crystal Bay waterfrontage , the consm1ction of the new clubhouse and the proposed method of financing .
The national championship for the Diamondc la .~ s yachts was held in Broken Bay . Offshore Divisions I and 2 decided to invite Diamond cla . 5s yachts not sailing in their own division 10 sail with them .
Two interesting items occurred during the year . In August it was resolved that the tender from A . F . Little Pty Ltd ($ 400 OOOj . for the erection and completion of tb . e oew two-storey clubhouse at Green Point be accepted ; and the Sydney Club at 9 Rowe
Street agreed to make facilities available 10 RP A YC members over the Chriwnas period when 39 Rowe SLTee1 would be closed .
On 18 December 1969 the Vice-Commodore reported on the progress of development which , at that time , was approximately three weeks behind schedule due 10 heavy rains . Not a happy 11oce on which to finish the year . but then it had been a year of real progress and U1e Commiuee could be proud of their efforts and achievements .
Work on the marinas was approved on 17 March 1969 . They were completed and QCcupied and are much more heavily booked today than they appear to be sbordy after completion .
