111ere was an Extraordinary Meeting held on
30 March J 967 to discuss the question of membership llmirs . Membership was standing at 1575 against an approved limit of 1500 . IL was resolved that ille General Commiuee have Llie power to admit junior members who should noL be taken into account as club members . On '. 25 May 1967 a request was received from the Lady AssociaLes ' Commluee that theellgibiliry of associate members be amended to read : ' . .. will not necessarily be confined to relatives of members but that the limit of associate members remain at 250 .' J l was decided to accede to this request but to reconsider when the Pittwater clubhouse was completed .
At the same meeting the Committee agreed in principle to the site and general concept of Llle new clubhouse for the Pirtwater , and it was decided that the architect be empowered to develop these preliminary sketches for consideration by a special meeting of th . e General Committee .
There was some discussion on floating marinas and the General Secretary was asked to prepare a report for . say , 120 \ ierth •. The proposed new club · house , the pennissive occupancy for it , and the provision of marinas were now very much in the forefront of the Committee ' s deliberations .
And so ended 1967 , the club " s Centenary Ye ! ll '. The yacht racing bad been excellent and the Cemen · ary functions very much enjoyed , especially when the Commodore . Jack Pritchett , made an inadvertaut remark . To mark the Centenary . theclub ' s Honorary Commodore . Sir Roden Cutler . was presented with a flag staff oo wb _ ich he could fly his Honorary Commodore ' s flag on his recently acquired yacht
Camira which he sailed with the club . The Commodore intended to say : ' Your Excellency , it gives me great pleasure on behalf of the club to present you with this staff on which to fly your flag . ' Unfortunately , or maybe fortunately as it produced ll ' emen · do us laughter and His Excellency enjoyed the joke , Llie Commodore said : · Your BxceJJency , it gives me great pleasure on behalf of the club to present you with this staff on which to Oag your fly .'
The next year , 1968 , was a year of planning . BveryUiing was before the club . The Club Development Committee , consisting of the Rear-Commo · dare , J . H . Alsop , in ille chair , Commodore J . H . Pritchert , Vice-Commodore L . R . Arm )• tage . tlie Captain , A . G . Lee . the Honorary Treasurer , R . Jewell , and C . A . Morgan , G . N . Nock and N . 13 . D . Stewart , had put in a tremendous amount of work and were now settling down to a really gargantuan effoTL
In July J 968 they were considering the construction and financing of marinas . Green Point reclamation .
