The club was acquiring mo1e land and in February
1959 lbeydecided to apply to the Lands Depanment for a JlCllDissive occupancy over an area extending from the permissive occupancy already granred for a slipway to a depth of 6 ft . and also for ao area of approximately 70 ft • 12 ft on the eastern side of the jeny for the erection of ndinghy shelter . At the same time the club resolved
to purchase the property adjoining ! he club ' s Green Point property nnd known as ' Moon bar ' [ the Buckingham propenyl comprising ao area of 2 roods 17 3 / 4 perches ... for the sum of £ 21 750 and to instruet the club ' s solicitors to act in the mauer of purch : ise .
At the A1mual General Meeting at Rowe Street on 15 September 1959 n pl ' Ominent member LOOk cxcep · tion to the fact that his children had been asked not to loiter at the front door of the new clubhouse at Green Point . From the above developed the first breath of the Junior Sailing Division in the Pittwarer . 11 was suggcslod 1hnt the club make a greater effort to encourage yachling amongst the juniors by making the foe ill ties of the club more readily available to them , particularly as regards their inclusion in crews .
