This was duly carried out and approved .
On 15 July 1954 congratulations were extended to the Pittwater Comminee for making Opening Day such a success and permission was given to allow the Piuwater clubhouse to have a bar and to open a bank account at Mona Vale . The rrumer of obtaining a liquor licence was to be proceeded with forthwith . It was also decided ro grant a Licence to the Piuwater Divis . ion from the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club of all land and buildings , such Licence to be revoked m any time by die Comminee .
In the same year rhere was an alteration to the club ' s by-law No . 21 :
When a protest has been decided by the Sailing Committee , appeals may be made to the Royal Yachting Association of Great Britain or the Yachting Association of New South Wales at the option of the applicant , on the same conditions and payment of fees as provided by the Royal Yachting Association Rules and those of the Yachting Association of New South Wales .
In December 1954 it was decided to write to W . H . Northam wishing him success in his effort to win tlie Sayonara Cup and forwarding blm a club burgee to wear on tlie voyage .

By I September 1955 new members for the Royal Princ-e Alfred Yacht Club-Pittwatcr Di vision were flowing in . There were three people to be considered by the Election Comminee and ten to be placed on the club ' s noticeboard .

to erect a staff conage at Green Polm provided tenders do not exceed £ 4000 and provided that the Piuwater Division paid interest on the amount paid by the club for the couage at 5 % per annum .
The flowery language of yesteryears had disappeared . There was a leuer tO a disgruntled member : ' lf you are not satisfied witb the way in which the affairs of the club are conducted you should consider offering your resignation . ' h was decided ro hold the first HaUets Beach Picnic on 23 December 1956 .
In 1956 J . W . Smyth , QC . was elected Commodore of the Prince Alfred Yacht Club , Harold Vaughan and Douglas C . Brockhoff joined the Committee and J . A . Kyd remained as Secretary . The club ' s address was changed from 51 Castlereagh Street to 39 Rowe Street and membership s < ood a < 505 . including 13 ( male ) associate members .

On 2 Febn1ary l956 it was decided to write to all other royal clubs in Australia tO ascermin what provision they had in their rules for the election or non-British members . From the replies it appeared that most of these clubs had a rule similar to the Royal Prince Alfred Yacht Club and required an applicant for membership to sign a declaration of - loyalty to the Throne and Empire .
On I March 1956 it was resolved that ' tlie club ' s seal should be affixed to the employment agreement made between the club and John Lincoln Gale '. In May 1956 F . J . Palmer was appointed as the club ' s consultant on the matter of constrnction and maintenance of the club ' s propeny at Green Point and as liaison with the Pittwater Division of the club .
