Blushers
Blushers are probably the least popular makeup
item among dark skin women especially Jamaican
women. This is probably because when we think of
blushers we visualize red or pink which are more
common amongst our white female counterparts and
to be frank these colors really don’t complement
our skin tone very well. But for all those chocolate
ladies who would love to make blushers a def part
of their regular makeup routine stick to colors that
are more orange or coral in tone for instance ‘Devil’
from MAC and ‘Spice’ from Bobby Brown are two
great blushers that complements and accentuates
our darker skin tone while still making it look very
natural and giving it a sunkissed glow.
Lipsticks and Lip Liners
Before applying lipsticks it’s very important to first
add lip liners. The purpose of lip liners is to help define your lips, to prevent the lipstick from bleeding
out, and finally to make your lipsticks last longer.
NYX has a great line of lip liners don’t be afraid
to play around with the different liner colors with
different lipstick colors. Nude lips are also thought
of to be more suitable for whites but again that’s not
true the trick is to use a lip pencil that matches the
shade of your skin to line your lips then you apply
the lipstick.
