Alumni Network
Recently , I met up with Melanie Huang at the Holiday Market in Bryant Park . Melanie spent her entire elementary school and middle school years at BCIS . In our brief overlapping times at BCIS , we both remember each other ’ s presences . Now we have become friends in New York through BCIS Alumni Network . I was in 12th grade while she was in 8th grade . Memories of her sitting in the SS cafeteria with her friends during Student Council meetings are still vivid in my mind . To our surprise , Melanie and I lived across from each other in both Beijing and New York . The BCIS family is never too far away from me .
In the past months , I have been working on the BCIS Alumni Wall exhibition , which will showcase the exciting journeys our alumni have taken since BCIS . Throughout this process , I have learned so much about the growth and experiences of our alumni . They are all very active and happy to engage with the BCIS community from where they are in life right now . As I learned more about them , I discovered that many alumni , like myself , discovered the passion they are currently pursuing at BCIS . I ’ m thrilled to share with you , current students , parents , faculties , and staff at BCIS , the project that I have been working on for almost three months . As an exhibition opening event , we look forward to inviting alumni exhibitors back to the community through livestream to talk more about their exciting stories .
最近 , 我和 Melanie Huang 在纽约布莱 恩公园见面 。 Melanie 的小学和初中时光都是 在 BCIS 度过的 。 在我们同时在 BCIS 上学的 短短几年里 , 我们都有印象对方的存在 。 现在 通过 BCIS 校友联络平台 , 我和 Melanie 成为 了好朋友 。 她在八年级的时候 , 我在十二年 级 。 每周学生会活动 , 课后在中学部食堂开会 时 , 她和她的朋友们坐在一起的样子至今还在 我的脑海里栩栩如生 。 令我惊讶的是 , 这次和 Melanie 聊天我才发现 , 我们在北京和纽约居 住的地方都仅仅相隔一条街 。 可见 BCIS 大家 庭一直都在我身边 。
在过去的几个月里 , 我的工作内容主要是 策划 BCIS 校友墙的展览 。 在这个过程中 , 我 联络了许多现在身在世界各地的校友们 , 开始 了解他们的学习 、 工作以及成长经历 。 我发现 , 大家都非常愿意从不同角度与 BCIS 社区交流 沟通 , 分享自己的故事 。 从他们的故事中我发 现 , 很多校友目前在做的事情都是在 BCIS 的 学习的那段时间里得到的启发 。 在这里 , 我很 高兴地和现在的 BCIS 成员 ( 学生 、 家长 、 老 师以及员工 ) 分享这个我策划了近三个月的展 览 。 在开幕式的活动上 , 我们计划邀请参展校 友们通过直播的形式回到 BCIS 社区 , 并和大 家分享更多自己的故事 。
