来 BCIS 是孩子们自己的选择 , 事实证明他们也把这里当做了自己的第二个家 , 他们所 有的成长记忆几乎都在这里 。 其实我并没有正式的问过他们这样的问题 。 但我发现他们总是 非常关注学校的消息 , 我想他们也是热爱这里的 。

How did you join the PTA ? 是什么机缘巧合让您加入了家长委员会 ?
I attended many PTA classes and taught some cooking classes too . It is all voluntary , and then by chance I became president after a PTA class – they caught me !
我本来只是在家长委员会参加一些课程 , 有时候教大家做做烹饪 , 这些都完全是自愿的 。 然后有一天 , 之前的家长委员会主席问我愿不愿意正式加入家长委员会 , 我欣然答应了 。
After joining the PTA what was most meaningful or fulfilling ? 加入家长委员会以后 , 您觉得做得最有意义或最有成就感的事情是什么 ?
I have to thank the PTA . They gave me a lot , I learned from them and they helped us as a family . But that is also BCIS .
一定是国际午餐日 ( International Day Lunch ) 活动了 ! 每年的国际午餐日 , 家长委员 会都会召集世界各国的家长为全体社区成员准备丰盛美味的午餐 , 家长们对此也都兴奋不已 。 我在台湾时工作比较忙 , 不怎么会亲自下厨 , 所以刚来北京时我谈不上会做饭 。 到了北京以后 , 因为想更好的照顾两个孩子 , 我们没有请保姆 , 一日三餐都由我负责 , 我的厨艺水平也飞速 进步 。 在国际午餐日 , 我会和台湾来的家长们亲手制作特色美食 , 我们的餐桌前总是人来人往 。 有一年我做了 800 份珍珠奶茶 , 在国际午餐日上全部被享用掉了 ! 这太让我有成就感了 !
After joining the PTA , how do you think you have changed ? 加入家长委员会以后 , 您觉得自己有什么变化 ?

BCIS and the PTA changed me , not only my kids . To be honest , I was a tiger mom before , but when we came to BCIS , I learned a lot with PTA and our BCIS community .
