YOU HAVE TO RE-INVENT YOURSELF

Basquiat: For you moving forward, what does success consist of?

Nymdot: I feel to be relevant you have to consistently re-invent yourself, image wise, and personally but keep it organic. Reinvention is very important. Like I have progressed, NYMDOT to now NYMLO. Everybody has always know me for my style, the Polo wears and all that, but I wasnted to progress, and I followed that recipe for the next project, Random Thoughts, which will be out this Summer.

Audio Dope was original and it made people respect me musically. Now I'm going back to the spitter. Back to "Nemesis" as I used to be called. Straight raw, uncut, lyricism. The Diamond. Classic Beats are being taken and flamed. I'm taking it back to that era where a person respects how you flipped their beat, not because you emulated them, but because you did

it your way and tore it down. I feel like I have created audience, and now I wanna remind them of what I do. In the wake of the tragedy that fell for me and my family recently, I was at a stand still kind of but my mind was still working and the music still is as it has always been, my therapy. It has allowed me to vent, especially now when I need it most. Pay attention to this project, no hooks really. just bars of me going H.A.M.

Basquiat: I got this question that I ask often times because I feel like it gives me and the readers a good sense of the value of Hip Hop to an artist, and allows for a more in depth response. If Hip Hop were a person, what would you say to him/her?

NYMDOT: I would ask Hip Hop to be wifey. I would tell her that being my wife is as intimate as you can get. It sums up all the love I have for the art. I would share with her my deepest, darkest secrets, as only husband and wife can do. I would want Hip Hop to tell me its all as well and we make this a lifetime partnership as I put a ring on it.

Basquiat: In your perspective what is the difference between a rapper and a recording artist?

NYMDOT: A rapper is uncut and more so rough around the edges, something like a diamond. It has value, potential, and energy. Recording artists possess those same qualities but all of that talent has been harnessed and that shows when they get in the booth. It's sort of like the difference between EBC or Dyckman, and the NBA; youre still balling but not at the same level until you get polished, and put that real elbow grease in it. its
