LETS'S TALK HIP HOP

The Weigh- In EP has several interludes that featuring the likes of Lil Wayne, Tyrese (also featured on a track), and DJ Envy. The Weigh-In is a great prelude to what seems to be a promising album! There are some songs I think you will want to keep so grab it up!
4. Maybach Music Group (MMG) - Concrete Jungle Vol. 2 presented by DJ Hood, DJ Grady, and DJ Flatline (A Cinematix Presentation)
Fans of MMG should be delighted for this recent installment to the MMG catalog. The DJ work on this one is enough to give it a listen. Note: I have not written about the Meek Mill mixtape because it seems most people are already on that one, but no worries he makes several appearances alongside the likes of Big Sean, Rick Ross, Waka Flocka Flame, Drake, and Jeremiah. Laced with other fan favorites such as Birdman, Fabolous, Jadakiss, Diddy, Mase, and Styles P to name a few, I highly suggest just pressing play. In my personal opinion, some of the overly swagged out emcees sounded like they were too drunk to rhyme; also I could have done without some of the couple of their whiny, monotony. Overall I would give the album a good grade; minus a few annoying verses/emcees, I do suggest a listen to the entire tape, and be sure to appreciate the mixing by the hosting DJs.
5. MC Melodee & Cookin Soul - Check Out Melodee
I checked out Melodee and I can willl assume that Europe must be proud! One of my goals with this piece was to feature a tape or artist that I genuinely knew nothing about but I had enough respect for the culture itself to do my homework. In music today, I think it is imperative of everyone, that we give the underdog a chance. Support those who support you is what I say, and when all else fails, support HIP HOP in its entirety. Melodee got flow fa sho and with Whoo Kid, as well as Cookin Soul by her side people are sure to catch on much sooner than later. As I write this, I am bumping the Mac Miller featured, Genius. The hook is simple, but their sequential verses are nice and go well off of each other. Junkie Luv, produced by Chuck Inglish, has a crazy beat and the way Melodee flows on the hook is STELLAR. Matching the high-hat effortlessly, Melodee kicks, "......love like this is insanity/you take a shot do it right with me then piss me off wanna fight with me/......love like this is insanity.
A must hear track is Here We Come featuring Smif n Wessun, with Cookin Soul on the production. Displaying her smooth flow, Melodee’s decree goes a little something like: "You love the DJ blessin ya'll with tunes/ and find out what we're cookin on a hot afternoon/smell the jerk chicken, blunts, and brewed beer/ Now stand clear for a world premiere/ this jawnts messin up ya head taking you back there"
I am definitely going to give this project some more listens, and add it to my collection.
