Learning German in Germany
Why learn German
German is the most widely-spoken language in the Europe with circa 98 million people as native speakers, and worldwide another 80 million use German as a second language. Besides language, Germany plays a salient role in world economics, being the largest economy in Europe and ranking 4th world-wide.
The German Institute for Language Training offers extensive summer school education programs. During a six week course, participants will be taught extensively in small groups under the guidance of academically trained native speakers.
All programs are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, an European wide recognized system of language proficiency. The courses which are offered range from the lowest level A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery), enabling every person to continue at the level he or she has previously obtained.
Apart from the learning program, participants have the ability to use the weekends to explore Germany itself, and travel to different cities with their own unique characteristics. Based in Frankfurt, it is only a four hour train ride to Berlin, and other famous cities such as Köln or Bonn are only 160 kilometers away.
