The opening round of the 2017
UAE National Wakeboarding
Championship took place at
the Al Forsan International
Sports Resort earlier this
month and we saw some
familiar faces grace the
top steps of the podium
throughout the various
categories.
Under the watchful eye of
Head Judge Fabien Hermel,
it was 2016 Champion, Omeir
Saeed that continued his
dominance and claimed the
victory in the Open Men’s
division ahead of Khamis Al
Shamsi and Kuwaiti Khalid
Alawadhi.
Saeed also took home wins
in 3 of the 6 “Kicker only”
contests, winning best trick
with a Moby Dick 5, Best Spin
with a 900 and Best Invert
with a Tantrum Nuclear.
Khaled Al Awadhi grabbed
the wins in the Best Height
contest with a Krypt and also
the Best crash award for a
Double Half Cab attempt.
Best Grab went to Bill
Spyropoulus for his 180
Melon. Bill stood on the top
