SOS: Struggles of Stevie

Stephen Espinosa Sr., better known as Stevie Franchise, is a 25 year old hip-hop artist born and raised in New York City. After spending 6 years in the Air Force (stationed in Misouri) he currently resides in New Jersey. With that "East Coast Swag" and that "Mid-West Slang", Stevie Franchise is one of those up and coming artist you don't want to pass on.

Growing up in New York wasn’t always the prettiest thing, but it also wasn’t all that bad. "New York City is one of those places where they are gonna throw you out in the sea and see if you’re gonna sink or swim" he says. Stevie always thanks his hometown for who he is, as well as the foundation of his movement, "MADSON ENT”. He describes his team as more than just a movement, it’s his support system. From the block he grew up on in New York City (Madison St) he found the name he needed. It consists of his very close friends, “which I don't have a lot of. Regardless of where and how I met them, they all really helped me out. I love them all like family, and that’s how I treat em”, he states.

In his short life, Stevie Franchise has been thru a lot. He had to grow up fast and that’s what he did. Married, with a child, by the time he was 19; and then being divorced by the time he was 21. If it wasn’t for his music during that time when his ex-wife left with his child, he feels as if he wouldn’t be here today. Music gave him the outlet he need to “get away”, and to refocus his life.

Stevie Franchise was never the gang banger or drug dealer type, but he knew those types. That is the main reason why he never got caught up with them, he learned from their situations. That’s what he creates, music off of the things he’s seen growing up, and things he’s been thru personally. He only raps about what he knows; which is his son (first and foremost), enjoying life, his fashion, and the ladies.

Stevie Franchise is always up on the latest trends, which he has no problem talking about in his music. He's also big on living life. He lives life to the fullest, not caring what others may have to say. His music is also heavily influenced by his relationships, or lack thereof. He may be young, but he has been thru some heart breaking situations. All those situations have helped him grow as a person and an artist.

Stevie Franchise is looking forward to a bright future. He is hard working and highly dedicated. He wants to make a name for himself, and leave a legacy behind for his son. He’s just out here trying to make a living just like everybody else.
