A: While I use the above-mentioned devices once a week, for my daily skincare routine, I use the ZO Non-Hydroquinone Hyperpigmentation system by Dr.
Obagi. It works beautifully in lightening brown spots and other hyperpigmentation issues. A simple part of my regimen is to make sure to stay hydrated which
is so simple, yet so effective.
How do you come up with the names of your cosmetic products?
A: Oh, I love naming my products, and have so much fun choosing names that are related to the modeling, movie and fashion industry. In my product line,
I have “Day Rate”, “Casting Call and – of course – “Runway Red”! I even named one of my glosses “Bride in Show,” and people always ask me about that one.
With regards to fashion shows, the most coveted design is the bride at the end, where you have the honor of closing the show and walking with the designer.
The shade of, “Bride in Show, is the perfect bridal shade. The gorgeous color is a barely-there shade that offers up a sheer and shimmery soft pink and is flatter-
ing on every skin tone.
Do you have any children? If so are they wanting to follow your steps as a model?
A: I have two beautiful children with my late husband, Nick Constantino, who was also a model. My daughter Anna is going to be 18 next March, and my son
Luca is 15. Anna has been approached for modeling jobs quite a few times but wants to focus on school and college at the moment. I don’t think that the idea of
modeling has ever even crossed my son’s mind!
Were you ever nervous to work with a certain photographer, and why?
A: I was nervous when Karl Lagerfeld shot me for the Chanel look-book. Karl is incredibly creative, and not only did he design the clothes, he also took the
images. His incredible talents really blew me away, and I was in awe of him.
How was it shooting the L’Oréal beauty campaigns and who was your makeup artist?
A: I absolutely loved working for L’oreal! Having that contract allowed me to see the corporate side of the cosmetic industry and really inspired me to start my
“Runway Rogue”. The effort that was put into their productions was tremendous, and I had a lot of respect for that. The two makeup artists that L’oreal used
were Laura Mercier and Kevyn Aucoin (before they had their own lines)
As I described before, when Laura was finished, there was not a visible flaw in sight. She is a master of perfection. This is what I feel really differentiates today’s
makeup artists from back then. Nowadays, when something is not quite right everyone says: ‘Oh, don’t worry, we will fix that in post-production”. All that
retouching wasn’t done back then, at least not to today’s extent. Everything had to be perfect from the get-go. I loved that! That is why I admire those makeup
artists so much.
On a final note, working on this shoot for XIOX Magazine was such an amazing experience. Fidel’s creativity and vision never ceases to amaze me, in addition
to everyone else who worked on this shoot, from the beautiful hair to the amazing wardrobe. When Fidel finished my makeup, it reminded me of the per-
fectionism I described above. The makeup was beautiful and perfect, and when he stepped behind that lens and I in front of it, I knew there was magic being
made. I feel grateful and honored to have been a part of that! Fidel used my “Runway Rogue” Gel Lip Liner in “Sexy” which is a gorgeous balanced red, and
perfect for the look he had created. I feel honored and grateful to have been a part of this amazing shoot!
