What makeup artist did you work with and who inspired or impressed you most with their talents and why? There were so many artists but certainly Kevyn Aucoin who will always remain in my heart. I also really love Vicky Steckel’s work! You worked with many photographers. Who influenced you most and why?  I worked with must of them and some of them I truly adore. Some of my favorites and standouts would have to be: Paolo Roversi Herb Rits Albert Watson Marc Hispard Were you ever nervous to work with anyone that you had looked up to, and why? Well yes, when you admire someone it’s completely normal to get nervous but I would always remind myself that I de- served to be there and I truly belonged. What location was the most challenging to shoot in? India was always challenging, yet also amazing. What shoot location was the most beautiful and inspiring and why? I was so lucky and traveled to so many beautiful locations but if I had to choose, my top picks would be the Amazon, Morocco, Spain, Mexico, India, Sierra Leone, Benin and of course New York. How often did you travel?  During my biggest 7 years, home was New York City. I don’t think I was ever there for more than10 days straight. I was so lucky to have the career I had but I must admit, balance White Dress: Mario Delatorre Beaded Earrings: Terri Lavallee was incredibly difficult. Do you have any advice for young people that want to mod- el? Yes, work hard and don’t ever compare yourself to others. It’s pointless. If you hadn’t been a supermodel, where do you imagine your life would have gone?  Before this journey began, I was becoming an engineer, which is so strange to me now. What would you like to leave us with today as your golden piece of career and personal life advice? Motivate yourself and do your work and never appear des- perate. You wrote a book. Tell us about the process and the book it- self and what nudged you to try a new endeavor such as this? I really wanted to inspire other people to live their truth and to be their best selves. I must have really believed in this book, because writing was the hardest thing I have ever done. That being said, I hope you take the time to read my book by the name of ” Straight Walk: A Supermodel’s Jour- ney to Finding Her Truth.” You can find Patricia’s book here https://www.amazon. com/Straight-Walk-Supermodels-Journey-Finding/ dp/1618689355 Bio Credit - - IMDb Mini Biography By: Jason Cas- tellano Patricia Velasquez Interview   By ERIKA LEE
