MAZE RUNNER
BY ARTURO OROZCO BELTRÁN
Have you ever had a rough morning where you
wake up in a weird elevator and can't remember
how you got there, or anything else? No?
Well in this novel that’s how the story begins with
Thomas waking up in an elevator and the only
thing that he knows is his name when the
elevator doors open, he is pulled into a huge
place by a bunch of teenage boys who also have
no memories besides what they should be called,
Thomas gradually discovers that this place is run
by two boys, Alby and Newt, who maintain order
by make accomplish strict rules and keeping all of
the boys busy harvesting food and other stuff.
Outside this place that is limited by huge walls
there is a Maze, a terrifying labyrinth of high walls
covered in ivy, lethal creatures known as Grievers.
So the boys are stuck trying to stay alive as well as
HOW IT GOES?
solving the Maze by running through it as fast as
they can while tracking movements of the walls Thomas has a brilliant idea, and figures out that
and trying to find an exit. maybe the walls of the Maze aren't moving
randomly, but that maybe their movements are
actually a code. So they can discover that the
maze actually has a way out, Thomas also
discovers that the hole where the grievers come
from if they came out of there maybe that could
be their way out, the code that the Maze has
been spelling out is their way to escape.
A large group of them decide to make a run for it,
knowing that it could be suicide trying to take on
the Grievers but figuring that nothing could be
worse than being stuck in the maze.
They succeed, only to find out that what they've
been doing is an experiment being conducted by
the Creators, a group called “wicked”. The boys
get rescued by some kind of rebel group and
brought to a safe place while being told about
the Flare that is an apocalyptic occurrence that
killed off half of the world's population at this
time they understood that maybe they could
have the cure because the maze was a proof that
they had to took so they can know if they are
immune to “the flare”, later they knew they were
not the only group they try this on.
