/ My trip to Puerto Rico happened a couple of years ago, I remember it very well even though I was only 13 years old. I was studying junior high school, during the summer of the year 2013, to be more exact. It all started one afternoon like any other during a volleyball training, the coach gave us excellent news, we were invited to participate in an international tournament; the best of all was that it will be in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the capital and largest city of the island. The trip was approaching, months preparing myself training hard to remain in good physical condition for the competence. I was very excited. We did many activities with the purpose of raising funds, personally, I made a raffle, which the winning ticket got 6kg of meat, and also, I sold chocolates to cover personal expenses, because we had to pay for our lunch and dinner, except for breakfast because this was already included in the payment that the government made. After so many preparations, the most anticipated day arrived. The last night before the trip, I could not sleep of such anxiety, nerves and emotion. Everything was ready for us to leave, we left the city at 5 am and we arrived in San Diego at 8 am. The first flight was to Philadelphia, that it was a new place for me, they were too many people from different countries and cultures in the airport, where we waited for four hours, the next plane that finally was directed towards San Juan, Puerto Rico. When we arrived at the island, I could not stop admiring the landscape, the beach, the sea, the green areas and the different vegetation. Since we left of the airport, I remember that my feeling in that moment was very happy and I breathed fresh air. We stayed at the “Treasure Island” Hotel, which is located around a lake, in Cidra, Puerto Rico. When we arrived at the hotel and we finished unpacking, we went out to walk near the hotel. The games of the Second International Cup of Friendship of Volleyball were celebrated in the autonomous municipality of Comerío, Puerto Rico. In the cup in which we competed, 16 teams of different countries signed up. There were four days intense action in volleyball in Comerío. We, the Spalding Club of Mexicali, Mexico, won the silver medal in the 13th women's category. We in Puerto Rico, nine Cups had been celebrated and this was the second occasion that was held in Comerío. I recognize that it was a high quality event. 21
