5. Where did you start working? I started with an ally of NASSCO, who is Timsa in Mexicali then I moved to San Diego 6. Where do you work? At Generals Dynamics NASSCO in San Diego Bay where we build commercial cargo ships and tankers, also supporting the Navy. 7. How long have you been at your actual work? 23 years 8. What was the hardest thing about moving to the United States? It was a complete change of life, first of all leaving family and friends, also at the begin- ning we suffered from discrimination for being Mexicans. 9. What motivate you against this problems? The desire to transcend and the support of my family at every moment, specially when I try to quit school my parents tell me this decision could affect me more than I think. My parents always did everything so we can study and have a career. 10. What advice would you give to all the high school young boys who are going to university? It is a hard change, there are more responsibilities and compromises, you need to prior- itize your activities in order to avoid problems. 16
